Microsoft Server Software Comes Under Widespread Cyberattack
By Mark Anderson via Bloomberg
Microsoft has confirmed that hackers are actively exploiting vulnerabilities in its SharePoint document management software, posing a risk of widespread global breaches.
The U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) warned that attackers are using the flaws to access file systems and execute code on affected servers.
Microsoft has issued a new patch to mitigate attacks on on-premises SharePoint servers, but further fixes are still in development to address remaining vulnerabilities.

Writing is more than reporting results—it’s a powerful tool for clarifying ideas, shaping narratives, and reflecting on the significance of research, with cognitive benefits linked to activities like handwriting.
While LLMs can assist with grammar, summarization, and brainstorming, their lack of accountability, tendency to hallucinate, and inability to convey authentic researcher thinking limit their role in scientific authorship.
Relying entirely on LLMs risks forfeiting the essential human process of thinking through writing, which is critical for both scientific insight and professional development.

Dell confirms breach of test lab platform by World Leaks extortion group
By Lawrence Abrams via BleepingComputer
Dell confirmed that its Customer Solution Centers platform—used for demoing products with synthetic data—was breached by the World Leaks extortion group, a rebrand of Hunters International.
The attackers exfiltrated mostly fabricated or public data, though an outdated contact list may have been legitimate; Dell stated the platform is isolated from core systems and customer networks.
World Leaks, now focused on data extortion over ransomware, has leaked data from 49 organizations since January but has not yet published any Dell-related data.
T-Mobile is bringing low-latency tech to 5G for the first time
By Jay Peters via The Verge
T-Mobile is the first US wireless carrier to roll out L4S (Low Latency, Low Loss, Scalable Throughput) on its 5G Advanced network, aiming to reduce latency for smoother video calls and cloud gaming.
The L4S upgrade is network-driven, requiring no special phones or plans, and is already live in many cities with ongoing expansion across the country.
L4S technology manages data congestion by dynamically adjusting to packet traffic, with applications like Apple’s FaceTime and Nvidia’s GeForce Now expected to benefit from fewer hitches and better performance.
France has launched criminal probe of X over alleged algorithm 'manipulation'
Financial Times
X (formerly Twitter) has condemned a French criminal investigation alleging that its algorithm was manipulated to spread hate speech, calling the probe politically motivated and a threat to free expression.
The investigation, launched by France’s Ministry of Justice, focuses on whether X’s recommendation algorithms were deliberately designed or adjusted to amplify hateful content, especially during politically sensitive periods.
A spokesperson for X labeled the accusations as baseless, emphasizing the company’s commitment to transparency and asserting that France is targeting the platform for not complying with speech suppression demands.
