Microsoft calls out Google for running 'shadow campaigns' in Europe to influence regulators
By Jordan Novet via CNBC
Microsoft accuses Google of running "shadow campaigns" to discredit Microsoft among European regulators, allegedly using a coalition of cloud companies to influence policymakers and the public.
According to Microsoft lawyer Rima Alaily, Google hired the DGA Group to form the Open Cloud Coalition to criticize Microsoft’s practices in Europe, with claims of concealed Google involvement.
Google has filed an antitrust complaint against Microsoft with the EU Commission, asserting Microsoft’s cloud licensing policies restrict competition, lock in customers, and harm cybersecurity and choice.

Amazon leaks tiny Mac Mini with M4 Pro
By Thomas Ricker via The Verge
Amazon accidentally leaked details of a new Mac Mini featuring an M4 Pro chip, with up to 14 CPU cores, 20 GPU cores, 64GB memory, and 8TB storage before its official announcement.
The leaked image shows a smaller Mac Mini design, similar in size to an Apple TV, with a headphone jack and two front-facing USB-C ports likely supporting Thunderbolt 4.
This M4 chip represents a significant performance upgrade, with boosted AI processing power expected to reach 38 TOPS, nearly doubling the performance of the M2 in the current Mac Mini models.

Apple Taps India to Learn How to Build New iPhone
By Wayne Ma via The Information
Apple has started using an Indian factory for early manufacturing of the iPhone 17 base model, a step traditionally handled in China, marking a shift toward supply chain diversification.
This move reflects Apple's growing confidence in India’s engineering capabilities as it looks to reduce reliance on China.
Apple CEO Tim Cook reassured Chinese officials of continued investment in China, even as the company advances its manufacturing initiatives in India.

Spanish Startup Inbrain Raises $50 Million for Brain Device
By Sarah McBride via Bloomberg
Inbrain Neuroelectronics, a Barcelona-based startup, has raised $50 million to develop brain-computer interface devices based on graphene technology.
The company aims to treat neurological disorders like Parkinson’s disease, joining competitors such as Elon Musk’s Neuralink in advancing brain-computer interface technologies.

TSMC reportedly cuts off RISC-V chip designer linked to Huawei accelerators
By Tobias Mann via The Register
TSMC has reportedly halted shipments to Chinese chip designer Sophgo over concerns that it may have been attempting to supply components to Huawei in violation of US sanctions.
This action follows TSMC’s alert to US officials about a possible attempt by Huawei to bypass export controls using proxies, involving a high-end AI accelerator similar to Huawei’s Ascend 910B.
Sophgo and its partner Bitmain have denied involvement in any violations, asserting full compliance with US export restrictions.
