Elon Musk finally admits Tesla's HW3 might not support full self-driving
By Fred Lambert via Electrek
Elon Musk admits that Tesla’s HW3 hardware might not support full self-driving and that the requirements for achieving it are uncertain, despite millions of Teslas using this hardware.
Tesla may need to develop a retrofit solution for HW4, as HW3’s current design and components differ significantly, making a straightforward upgrade impossible.
Musk commits to offering a free HW4 upgrade to HW3 Full Self-Driving purchasers if HW3 is ultimately deemed insufficient for unsupervised self-driving.

The fediverse is getting its own TikTok competitor called Loops
By Sarah Perez via TechCrunch
Loops, a new fediverse-based app, aims to be a TikTok competitor by allowing users to share short, looping videos in a decentralized, open-source environment.
Developed by Daniel Supernault (creator of Pixelfed), Loops will integrate with ActivityPub, enabling cross-platform interactions with apps like Mastodon and Pixelfed once fully launched.
Loops promises data privacy by not selling user data or using it for AI training, and it plans to fund development through user donations and a grant, rather than investor backing.
𝕏: "Similar to how Mastodon offers an open source, distributed version of X, the fediverse is getting its own TikTok competitor. This week, an app called Loops began accepting signups on its new platform for sharing short, looping videos." - Amber Mac (@ambermac)

Banks and regulators warn of rise in 'quishing' QR code scams
By Stephanie Stacey via Financial Times
Banks and regulators are warning about a surge in "quishing" scams, where fraudulent QR codes bypass cyber defenses and trick customers into sharing financial details.
Scammers are embedding QR codes in PDF attachments in emails, a tactic that often escapes traditional cybersecurity filters designed to detect malicious links.
The rise in QR code scams since the pandemic has led to incidents at parking meters, EV charging points, and restaurant tables, where fake codes direct users to malware or phishing sites.

The hybrid model assigns employees based on role needs and offers an annual selection, aiming to balance in-office collaboration and remote work for productivity and work-life satisfaction.
